When you read a newpaper, magazine or any book that is supposedly factual you use one of the methods employed to interpret scripture. I suppose now you will argue that that is 'disingenuous'?

If you can't see the lies of the devil right in the text of scripture you are ridiculously ignorant of what scripture says. One of the definitions of God is that He determines the length of life of His creation in the first place. God does not murder anyone, they live and die according to the predestination of God. How or when they die is irrelevant to a created being in the end because they all have immortal souls. "It is appointed to man once to die and then comes judgment."
If you choose to say that you can determine your own course in life and are responsible for it, then you will suffer the consequences. Don't blame God for your choices when He provides the grace to save yourself! God died on the cross for your sins; past, present and future.

Since mankind had a common origin, one can trace the legends and myths back to common sources within the middle east where man first lived. I would speculate (though with some study of multiple sources of scholarship) that tribal groups passed down information that had some grains of truth. God's influence was upon many though He chose to reveal prophecy through the Hebrew lineage. The Godman came according to prophecy and even the Magi of Persia were well informed and looking for His arrival, no doubt through the captivity and dispersion of the Hebrews. God did indeed break through from eterity and into our time frame at the perfect time to reveal the salvation of mankind. Jesus is the 'lamb slain from eternity'!
You can see that in the many similar ideas of atonement by animal sacrifice that stems from the first 'covering' that God made Adam and Eve. There the promised seed was prophecied in Genesis 3 and we see Cain and Abel bringing in their sacrfices. All of this is common to groups that worshipped El, who was the original God that fathered all the other gods in polytheistic religions. El Shaddai is the name used by Abraham for God and later on God called Himself, I Am, or Yahweh by translation. Other names are El Elyon, Adonai, Erkamkana Adonai, Yahweh Sabboth (Lord of Hosts). God is often named by His actions as a verb! One of the Bible translations that use some of these names is the Roman Catholic, New Jerusalem Bible.

LOL...When the premise of naturalists is that 'no supernatural exists', they do in fact deny the origin of the human soul. The very premise of naturalism is the denial of God and sometimes the denial of a 'first cause'. They make a case against Deism on the insistence that 'intelligent design' is not possible!

You claim that you can use the 'law of love' to arbitrarily deny scripture by putting it through a filter of your own making.
1) You claim to be a Christian.
2) You deny scripture as being inspired.
3) You say that Jesus words have been more or less preserved but that the Bible is itself unreliable and errant. It is not infallible.
4) Jesus taught and clarified scripture using the literal and metaphoric aspects of the Old Testament.
5) The apostles continually cited the O.T. and Jesus interpretation of the same 'law and the prophets'.
6) The apostles taught using the literal and metaphorical aspects of the O.T.
By points 1, 2 & 3 you are in a state of contradiction by virtue of points 4,5 & 6. In addition to that you dismiss any efforts at clarifying scripture in the methodology of hermeneutics. This is the science of studying scripture! You speak directly AGAINST rational thought, therefore you are using an irrational method to expound on the very God that you claim to worship! Jesus Himself oftentimes even said, 'thus saith scripture', 'thus saith the word of God', as did the apostles.

Fanaticism: When a person refuses to capitulate his convictions to be popular with the crowd.
You haven't really changed, Dan. When you were 22 you probably 'knew it all' like anyone else of that age and especially JWs. When confronted with real Christianity your 'dub mentality was threatened. Since then you have had your 'bubble burst' and adopted a new worldview. Reading my posts threatens that new worldview, just like when you were a 22 year old 'dub. You are an embarrassment to yourself.
